Zakkiha is a free platform for Quran memorization and parenting. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and why, who can see it, and how you erase it.
The rule we fall back on whenever there is a conflict: if a feature competes with a child's privacy, privacy wins.
1) What we collect
About you (the account holder): your email, name, language, time zone, gender and birth year (used to match you with a suitable teacher), and your phone number if you provide one for WhatsApp contact.
About your child, if you create a profile: a display name (a nickname is fine — no legal name required), a date of birth, gender, and an optional note you write yourself.
We do not collect about a child: photos, school name, address, or any official identifier.
About the memorization journey: your study plan and its times, the status of each session, what was recorded in it (ayah range, rating, teacher note), and what you told us about your prior memorization and goals.
From teachers who apply: name, email, phone, qualifications, ijazahs, and an audio recitation sample the teacher records themselves.
2) Who sees what

We do not sell your data, rent it, show ads, or share anything with any advertiser.
3) Children
- Children never get login accounts. A child's profile is managed entirely by their guardian, who alone creates, edits, and deletes it.
- A child under 13 attends under their guardian's supervision — sessions run over external meeting links (Google Meet or Zoom) that both parties join.
- By creating a profile for your child you confirm that you are their guardian and are consenting on their behalf.
4) Your rights
Erasure: one button on your account page deletes your account for real, not just deactivating it — and the deletion cascades to your children's profiles, plans, sessions, progress records, and notifications. We keep no copy afterwards.
Correction: your data and your children's data can be edited from your account at any time.
Notifications: every notification type has its own independent off switch.
Export: there is no "export my data" button today. Email us and we will send you a copy.
5) Cookies
We use one session cookie to keep you signed in. Your preferences (language and theme) are stored in your browser, not with us. No advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking.
6) Retention
We keep your data as long as your account exists. Delete the account and it is gone. Backups persist for a limited period before being rotated out.

8) Changes to this policy
